  • Assistant General Counsel

We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant/Assistant General Counsel with at least 3 years of HR consulting experience, litigation experience (preferably employment litigation), and/or in-house counsel experience. Ideally someone who has worked in the hospital in healthcare industry We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about human capital management, has a strong interest in learning more about business operations and a desire to work in a dynamic and fun environment.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Consulting with executives, business owners, entrepreneurs, and all levels of management on HR and other compliance matters.
  • Assisting clients with workplace investigations for clients and providing appropriate recommendations.
  • Monitoring human resources industry trends and regulatory developments; implementing processes to assist clients with compliance and HR best practices.
  • Drafting and updating employment policies, handbooks, and disciplinary actions in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Creating and conducting webinars, podcasts, blog posts, and seminars on timely HR and compliance topics.
  • Traveling to client work sites to deliver management training; presenting seminar, trade shows and/or conferences.
  • Serving as an HR representative in meditations, negotiations, and other administrative proceedings.
  • Drafting position statements and correspondence in response to various administrative agencies.
  • Serving as a managerial resource within MBA by answering inter-departmental questions, providing compliance updates, and assisting the Vice President of Human Resources with internal team member development.
  • Assisting the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer with special projects.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with the flexibility to shift between tasks frequently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and advise all levels of an organization’s management team, from supervisors to owners.
  • Public speaking experience and an ability to convey complicated concepts at a fundamental level.
  • Excellent legal writing and reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Occasional local and out-of-state travel required.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of HR consulting experience, litigation experience (preferably private sector employment litigation), and/or in-house counsel experience.
  • Human Resources and/or Employment Law experience is required.
